Nyalenda Youngstars is honoured to present its 2025 Annual Report, reflecting a year of remarkable achievement, sustained growth, and deepening community impact. This year was defined by exciting football successes, meaningful engagements with youth and families, strengthening partnerships, and tangible improvements in infrastructure. As we celebrate these accomplishments, we extend heartfelt thanks to our players, parents, coaches, volunteers, partners, and the entire community whose dedication and support made this year a special one.
1. Football Development
Growth in Participation and Training
2025 was a year of rapid expansion for Nyalenda Youngstars. Our club continued to grow in both size and strength, now engaging over 150 young players across multiple age categories, including boys, girls, and senior teams. Training was organized into age-specific groups to ensure high-quality coaching, personalized attention, and safe development for every participant. To achieve that we increased our coaching staff with two amazing assisten coaches who are helping our Headcoach Billy Agai in the daily work.
Training sessions were all about technical football drills, tactical development, fitness work, and fun exercises. Our Coaches played a huge role in teaching teamwork, discipline, resilience, and positive conduct both on and off the pitch & all the other values we stand for as a club.
Senior Men’s League Performance & Promotion
In 2025, Nyalenda Youngstars took a major step forward by entering the FKF Kisumu Central Sub-County League with a senior men’s team.
In the first season of the club’s short history. Our senior team delivered a standout season, including:
A powerful 11-3 victory in their first official league match.
A dominant campaign where we finished top of Pool B, with 10 wins, 2 draws, and no losses, scoring 36 goals and conceding only 8.
Securing the promotion in the FKF Kisumu County League.
Consistent performances that showcased tactical growth, team discipline, and resilience throughout the season.
This unbeaten run shows how far we already came as a club and how important collective belief and tenacity on and off the field. We are so proud of the boys and are for the next season in the Kisumu County League which is starting on the 18th of January 2026.
Empowering the Ladies’ Team
One of our proudest milestones was the continued development of our girls’ football team. After launching women’s football structures in the recent year, 2025 saw the team engage actively in competitive play.
Through regular training and structured matches:
The ladies’ team solidified its place as a competitive force in the FKF Sub-County League.
Players demonstrated commitment, resilience, and growing tactical ability, evidencing the success of dedicated coaching and inclusive club philosophy.
Beyond results, the team became a powerful example of how sport can uplift and empower women and girls in our community.
Our girls team is very important for the club and is an example how strong girls and women are in Nyalenda. On and off the pitch we are promoting self-confidence and gender equality and try to improve further in 2026.
Youth Categories & Tournaments
Our junior boys’ and girls’ teams continued to sucessfully pareticipate in youth tournaments and league matches. In several competitions throughout the year, Nyalenda Youngstars teams:
U13, U15 & U17 boys and girls participated in friendly matches, tournaments and the Kisumu Central County League.
Delivered strong performances in tournaments such as the HOK Jiboreshe Slum tournament and various other ones.
Improved amazing through regular matches and training sessions.
These opportunities not only enhance sporting skill but also broaden exposure, confidence, and ambition among young players. We are also very proud of all our young players and we will continue to support them in the best ways on and off the pitch.
2. Community Engagement & Social Impact
Nyalenda Youngstars continues to use football as a tool for positive change — helping young people navigate both athletic and life challenges.
Life Skills Education & Personal Development
In 2025, we integrated structured life skills content into our activities, with sessions addressing:
Sexual and Reproductive Health
Gender-Based Violence awareness and prevention
Mental health and emotional resilience
These sessions were designed to build knowledge, promote informed choices, and strengthen confidence. Those are topics targetting almost all of our players and is essential especially among girls and vulnerable youth who benefit most from safe spaces and empowerment dialogues.
Over 150 youth and community residents took part in post-match reflections and open training sessions, making football a platform for shared learning, encouragement, and hope. These engagements have fostered unity, mentorship, and a sense of collective pride.
We also hosted a christmas celebration, organized by BetterMe, at our community centre. A joyful day that brought together players, families, partners, and neighbours to honour achievements and look forward to the year ahead.
Operational Growth
Besides that we also made a big progress on our cummunity centre making it colourful and working including:
Improved security at the community centre, including a newly fixed gate.
Interior upgrades, such as office equipment and seating, making daily operations more efficient and welcoming.
Branding and visibility work, including painting and signage that showcase the club’s presence and mission in Nyalenda.
These enhancements support better administration, greater visibility, and safer community gatherings.
3. Partnerships
Our impact in Nyalenda has been amplified through collaborative partnerships:
We are proud to be part of the FIFA Foundation Play4Change Programme, supporting our work in using football for community transformation.
Continued collaboration with Better Me e.V., which supports life skills initiatives and youth development programming.
Engagement with local organisations and football governance structures that enable competition, mentorship, and capacity building.
These partnerships not only provide resources but also affirm the value of holistic youth development.
4. Looking Ahead & Vision 2026
As we embark on 2026, we are aiming for further progress. Our strategic priorities include:
Deepening and expanding social impact programs to reach more youth.
Widening community outreach beyond football including education, mentorship, and wellness domains.
Enhancing competitive pathways for young players at all levels.
Strengthening the women’s football program and promoting gender equity in sport and community.
Successful and consistent participation in League games and training sessions.
Growing partnerships that align with our mission and values.
Together, we continue moving towards a future where football enriches lives, builds character, and fosters sustainable community change.
