Report Q3 2025

INTRODUCTION

This quarter has been a very interesting one - full of dynamic and fast-paced work. Our activity levels remain high and productive. From intensive pitch-training sessions to our strategic youth-empowerment programmes and all necessary office and administrative work - we’ve advanced on many fronts.

THE VISIT

During this period, we were fortunate to welcome back Jakob and Cedrik, for a productive three-week visit. Their presence generated a “lightning-strike” of energy that significantly accelerated every activity across the project.

Along with them, they brought gifts and greetings from our partner club "Spvgg Allmannsdorf" in Germany. In a happy coincidence, they also met with Lukas - whose presence has sparked a brand-new idea directed at the well-being of the children and a fresh “breathing space” for the project. Lukas also supported the kids with a bunch of new shoes and the office. We are looking forward to launching this next journey aimed at bringing positive change to the community.

OFFICE UPGRADES

Our community office serves as the central hub for coaches, coordinators, youth development and community-engagement programmes in Nyalenda. The space is used for mentoring, administration, meetings and children’s activities - so one of our main agenda items this quarter was to make it more accessible, safe and functional for staff, players and visitors.

Infrastructure Developments

Electricity

We have connected the office to the local grid, installed reliable lighting, power-points and Wi-Fi to support evening sessions, computer use and ensure safe access for all participants.

Water & Sanitation

The facility now features a dedicated water connection and functioning sanitation facilities (toilets, showers and hand-washing stations). These improvements support hygiene and health, making the space welcoming for staff, children, visitors and their families.

Furniture Upgrades & Security

We invested in furnishings to improve comfort, flexibility and usability of the space. With benches and sofas we can host children to play, read and learn. With shelves, chairs and tables we can hold life-skills lessons, team-tactics meetings, and properly store books and games. We also installed a new fence to enhance security of the premises. These upgrades enhance our office’s function as a secure multi-use space - for office work, chess classes, learning, and larger community meetings.

Painting & Finishing:

By painting the exterior walls and refreshing key interior surfaces, we are creating a sense of a supportive and creative community hub. We are also showcasing our club colours and vision in the community, making the centre more welcoming.

Next Steps

  • Maintain a regular maintenance schedule to keep the office in good condition.

  • Use the upgraded space to expand our work: host mentorship sessions, chess clubs, and simply provide kids with a welcoming, creative and secure environment.

  • Use the facility to welcome local visitors and partners and showcase what Nyalenda Youngstars stands for.

THE PITCH AND THE LEAGUE

Our vision remains to eventually have our own pitch. For now, we continue to train and play our home-league matches at the Sri Lanka Grounds.

Youth Teams

All our youth teams have participated in multiple friendlies and league games over the last months, competing against local teams throughout Kisumu.

  • The U13, U15 & U17 teams showed remarkable resilience and improved performance.

  • The U15 and U17 boys have established long unbeaten streaks and are leading their tables. Thanks to our dedicated coaches (Billy and Vincent) our players are developing beautifully - their football is a joy to watch.

Girls Team

A major highlight this quarter was the step taken by our ladies’ team, who successfully competed in their first league match and delivered a fantastic result. We are delighted to have the girls on board - they add great value and momentum to the club. Although the league for them is not yet fully consistent, this is a strong first step and we aim to improve soon.

Senior Team & Promotion

A significant milestone this season was the launch of our senior team, competing in the Kisumu Central Sub‑County League. The team achieved outstanding results: 12 matches played, 10 wins and 2 draws. Moreover, they won the “Mini League” and secured promotion in their first season. This achievement reflects our growth from grassroots youth development to senior-level competitive football.

Our senior team serves as both a pathway and inspiration for our youth players. We are extremely proud of these boys for their remarkable and unbeaten performance and are excited for the journey ahead next season.

CONCLUSION

This quarter was very significant for the club - many steps have been taken. We are happy with how things are developing and extend our thanks to everyone who is part of this journey. It is very important for us now to establish our new structures and continue progressing step-by-step.

Looking back over the last 2½ years, we can clearly see what we have achieved - and it fills us with pride. Yet we recognise we are still only taking the first steps. We feel grateful and look ahead with enthusiasm to a new beginning and the next phase of our project. 💙🤍
